Toilet Repair and Installation in New Port Richey, FL

Toilets are the fixture people call us about most, and most of the time the repair is smaller than they expect. A toilet that runs on and off, flushes weakly, rocks underfoot or clogs every few weeks usually needs rebuilding rather than replacing, and a rebuild is a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Everything below is a flat price, quoted by the job rather than the hour. You will know the number before we start.

Toilet repair and replacement prices

  • Minor rebuild — $210. Flapper, fill valve, flush valve: the parts that wear out and cause most running and weak-flush problems.
  • Complete rebuild — $400. All internals plus a new wax ring and closet bolts, with the toilet pulled and reset properly.
  • Install a toilet you bought — $350. You pick it, we fit it and haul the old one away.
  • Standard toilet supplied and installed — $650.
  • Upgraded toilet supplied and installed — $850. Comfort height, better flush valve, longer warranty.
  • Shutoff valve (angle stop) — $225 for the first, $75 for each additional one in the same visit.
  • Diagnostic — $125 if it is not yet clear what has failed. Credited back against the work.

Common toilet problems and what they usually mean

It runs constantly, or cycles on its own. Almost always the flapper or the fill valve. This is minor rebuild territory and it is also quietly expensive to ignore, because a running toilet can put through hundreds of gallons a day.

Weak or incomplete flush. Could be the flush valve, could be mineral buildup closing up the rim jets, or it could be a partial blockage further down the line. Worth establishing which before buying a new toilet, because a new toilet on a restricted line flushes just as badly.

It rocks when you sit down. Usually the closet bolts and the wax ring. Left alone the seal eventually fails and water works into the subfloor, which turns a $400 job into a floor repair.

Water on the floor. The tank-to-bowl gasket, the supply line, the shutoff valve, or the wax ring. Four different repairs at four different prices, so it is worth finding out which one it is early.

Clogging every few weeks. That is rarely the toilet. A toilet that behaved for years and now blocks repeatedly usually means the line behind it is narrowing, and that is a drain and sewer job rather than a fixture one.

The tank sweats all summer. Florida humidity meeting cold supply water. Not a fault, though it can be managed.

When it is the toilet, and when it is the line

If one toilet is the only thing backing up and every other fixture drains normally, the trouble is the toilet or the short run behind it, and the prices above cover it.

If other fixtures are slow too, or a tub gurgles when the toilet flushes, the main line is the problem instead. Clearing a main stoppage through an outside cleanout is $300, or $500 where the toilet has to come off to reach the line, and a camera inspection is included either way with the video emailed to you. Those jobs live on the drain and sewer page.

Replacing a toilet as part of a wider project is bathroom remodeling work, and other fixtures around the house are covered under general plumbing repair.
